Privacy Policy
fixme.vip publishes guides to HVAC error codes for homeowners in the United States. This page explains what information the site collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Questions go to hello@fixme.vip.
What we collect
When you request a repair quote
The quote form asks for:
- your ZIP code (required),
- your name (optional),
- an email address or phone number (required), and
- a description of the problem (required).
With the request we also record the page you came from, the date and time, and your browser's user-agent string. We use this to understand which guides lead people to ask for help.
When you look up a code
If you type an error code or description into the lookup tool and we have no matching guide, that text is saved so we know which guides to write next. If you use the AI diagnosis button, the text you entered is sent to our AI provider to generate the answer. Please don't type personal details into the lookup box.
When you visit any page
- Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views, referring sites and countries. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you.
- Counters. We count clicks on the "Get free local quotes" and "Call" buttons, together with the page they were on. These counts contain no personal information.
- Security. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes IP addresses to deliver the site and block abuse. We use the IP address of AI diagnosis requests only to enforce a daily usage limit.
How we use it
- To connect you with a licensed HVAC professional or service network about the problem you described.
- To reply to you about your request, including an optional one-time confirmation email.
- To decide which guides to write and improve.
- To keep the site working and protect it from spam and abuse.
We do not send marketing email, and we do not sell your information to data brokers.
Who we share it with
- Service professionals and lead partners. When you submit a quote request, we may pass it to local HVAC contractors or to a home-services network that matches you with them. These parties may contact you about your project, and their own privacy policies apply from then on.
- Service providers that run the site for us. Cloudflare (hosting, storage and analytics), Resend (email delivery), and Anthropic (the AI diagnosis feature, and the AI tools we use to draft guides).
- Legal requirements. If we are required to by law.
Affiliate links
Some links to products, for example on Amazon, are affiliate links. If you click one, the retailer may set its own cookies to credit fixme.vip for a purchase. As an Amazon Associate, fixme.vip earns from qualifying purchases. We are not told who you are or what you bought.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests for as long as we need them to follow up and to keep records of the requests we have passed on. We keep lookup searches until they are no longer useful for planning guides. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices and rights
Email hello@fixme.vip to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We will reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, for example California, you may have additional rights under state privacy law. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live. We will not treat you differently for making one.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
